We ate here the last but one night of our holiday (a monday) we have eaten atthis place through out the years as different restaurants nothing seems to stay here long, so we went along, we stuck to the set menu, our starters arrived almost immediatley, oh had mushrooms i had the brushetta, very nice although a little lost on such huge plates, almost as soon as we had finished the plates cleared and the main course arrived (a little too quick) rib eye al pepe for both of us, the sauce was very hot, the veg consisted of over cooked green beans, three carrot pieces and something round and brown (but quite tasty) and a tower of potato like an croquette, again lost on a huge plate, we then waited abou 20 mins for our dessert order to be taken. We both had the homemade tiramissu (very sickly) and not at all like the uk version. Andrew oliver was doing his Elton John piece and i have to say that the poster outside said the best in pafos, i would say the only one and you dont need two, sorry but he looked ridiculous and singing was ok but nothing like Elton. When the bill arrived there was a survey to fill in about your experiences and i hope they listen to what people say on it. We came away feeling that we had been rushed to start with then ignored, i wish them all the best and hope things improve but one visit was enough.

This little Taverna is off the main square, visited several times in the summer where you can eat outside, visited in November and was almost empty , mainly because of the time of year and the nearby roadworks, The owner does all the cooking and its all done as you order so may have to wait a while o h had the pork chop (2) they were so big the rest of his meal was on another plate, the chips were homemade and delicious, we have never tried any of the desserts as the mains are soooo big, the prices are very good for two of us with drinks came to less than 15 Cy £. I would recommend lunchtimes though, we went one night in the summer and ate outside i must say that when it got dusk it felt a little eerie.I have rated this as good for Good food but also very good for budget.

Disappointing , We have eaten here twice lunch time and evening, if you want a quick snack its ok, if you want an evening meal keep walking, set menu was awful fresh fruit salad was out of a tin, the guys outside get on your nerves trying to temp you in and they remenber you from year to year , we now cross the road just before Phivos and them cross back when to coast is clear.

Great view little else

We first ate here 3 years go my other half raved about the pork chop, the next year we went with friends and it was awful maybe they had changed the chef but it wasnt a patch on the previous visit, the view is spectacular due to its elevation but the decor is old and dirty the meal was bad and the service not much better we waited for an age for our order to be taken and an age for the food to arrive. It could possibly have had another change but it has put us off trying again.

ZaZa

Zaza is a fabulous place to eat the suckling pig is a must ,you would be best to book if you want to try it . The garlic bread is the best i have tasted in paphos. Your meat is served with dishes of the pototo and seasonal vegetables this changes every day. The puddings if you have room for them are good the tulip ana lise is also a must. Zaza is only open in the evenings , Andreas the owner for years lifted tables with his teeth but doesnt tend to do it much now, his party piece is to bring round a rabbit in a pushchair, it gets lots of attention and the kids and adults love it. Expect to pay around 35cy£ for 2 courses and wine for two people.

Expensive

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful
We have been passed here for years but always seemed empty and menu was expensive , but friends of ours have been raving for years about it so we gave in and went with them, the place was still empty although it was early november. Thought it was overpriced and no atmosphere cant see it being better in high season.

We came here with people who had been before so the card system was easier for us. It was an experience and the staff very attentive but as there was only our table of 5 and another of 2 they could be, to be fair the season was almost at an end. I thought it was a bit on the expensive side but it all depends what you like i found that there were to many slightly different salads and not enough of pasta dishes. Our fellow diners on the other hand thought it superb.

We ate here last year we were seated outside and felt a little uncomfotable as there was space inside . The staff stood beside us all through the meal we had bottles of water and as soon as we had a sip the staff filled your glass up felt a little intimidated. Had the set menu which wasnt wonderful and quite expensive. Wouldnt go again.

Les Amis

1 of 2 people found the following review helpful
We have been coming to cyprus for five years and always eat at Les Amis at least twice each holiday. Staff go out of their way for you and will almost always remember you. If you go for the set menu you wont have to wait long for your meal to arrive sometimes a bit to quickly i suggest you choose another dish which will be prepared to order. The madre de Jimmy does a wonderful job at getting you in and seated he will always find a table for you no matter how busy they are and they get very busy.
