Very, very disappointing

Sorry the marks are so low, but as we never got to eat here, see below for reasons, you'll soon understand why. As 2 couples in our forties, as i have said on a previous review, good food in the evenings is a massive part of our holiday. 3 of our group wanted the Sucklng Pig, i wasn't that bothered, but as it is the special here on Tuesday's and Friday's we knew which nights to come for it. We wanted to come here not just because of the reviews on this site but also because people staying in our villa complex highly reccommended it. So as our last night was on a Tuesday, we wanted it to be perfect so decided to book in advance. We had walked past a few times and seen that it was always busy and didn't want to take the risk of not getting a table. So on Monday afternoon, the lads walked down and we booked a table for 4 for 9pm on the Tuesday night. At this point they were asked if they wanted to reserve the suckling pig. Knowing that 3 of them definatly wanted it, they booked 3 portions. On arrival at 8.50 we were left standing there for about 10 mins. When someone came over and we said we had booked they said they didn't know which table we were on. Ok, so some more hanging round but eventually we were seated. We were givn menu's and placed our drinks order. That came quite quickly. It took us another 20 mins before we could place our food order as no-one bothered to come over to us. On ordering our starters we were informed that 3 of them were no longer available. Back to the drawing board. Finally our order was took. One of the waiters came over and said, sorry, there is no suckling pig. We explained that as we had preordered it the day before there must be our portions left at least. But the answer was No. They had let a party of 10 have them instead. At this point tempers had become very frayed. Why bother to book in advance and be asked if we wanted to reserve a certain meal if they just sell it anyway? It's not as if we were late for the meal. We were there ahead of time. Altogether a very disappointing experoence and based on it i would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I agree with previous review, if you are not in a large party, then they think the bill will be small and arn't particularly bothered with you. Well their loss was the Colleseum 2's gain as we went across the road and spashed out big style spending 172 euro's. By the way the food there and the service was fantastic.

Fantastic Mojito's

The food here is good. Nothing special, but we came here at some point almost every night for the fantastc mojito's. Very authentic and at 3.5 euro's each great value for money. A nice bar to chat and watch the world go by.

Great set menu. Fantastic food. Great service. It does get very busy, and we were not surprised, so do book. We only just got a table. Very glad that we did though. If you are on a budget, this is one of the best set menu's. It even includes a bottle of wine between 2. What more could you want.

great set menu

We had the set menu here. Great food but my only advice is to cut the portions down. They are huge. A lot of our main meal went back but only because there was so much. It wasn't a slight on the quality at all. This was fantastic. Excellent value for money.

We ate here twice during our stay in late august, early September. Stumbled upon it on our first night and had the set menu. This was great value for money. The service was good and the food was excellent.We came back here by default on our last night, should have gone to Zaza's but i'll review that on their site. Suffice to say not a good experience. Anyway, we were that fed up, we thought to hell with it and went the full hog. No set menu this time, we ordered from the A la carte menu. First off this was the most expensive meal we had during our stay but to be honest i rated it 10/10 for value for money because it really was. There was nothing that we could fault. It was a little quiet, but by the time we got to sit down, following our previous disaster, it was almost 10 o clock.The waitress that served us was Eastern European i think, she was married to a British guy, and she was so freindly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and we all had steaks which were cooked to perfection. I like mine rare and this was absoloutly how i like my steak to be cooked. Fantastic. I can't remember off hand what we all had but there were clean and empty plates from all of us frm the starters to the sweets. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Please try it, you'll love it.

fantastic goumet tavern

As 2 couples in our 40's one of the main parts of our holiday is to have good food in the evenings. We went to this restaurant twice when we were in Paphos in late August, early September. On both occassions we were delighted. The second time the service was not quite as good, but they were very busy. The food on both visits was exeptional. Very well set out, not overfacing, but beautifully cooked and presented. On both visits we had something different and i can honestly say the food was second to none.If we return to Paphos we will definatly be back.
