Having given this restaurant a good review, went again a few weeks ago and the chef was serving so someone else was cooking and what a disappointment it was as well. Hubby and a friend ordered a steak - one medium rare, the other well done - waitress got them mixed up so they were not happy bunnies. My food was also dry and stringy. What a comedown for somewhere that I thought you could guarantee the quality of the food.

Went there for the first time on Monday - decor is basic, but the food was brilliant and really excellent value for money. Ordered one village salad with dips - surprised to have so much also maybe not for everybody as the radishes were served whole as well as the spring onion, but overall absolutely brilliant as it would have served four easily. The main course did arrive a bit too early for us (Michael did state he would ensure this did not happen again for us)- souvlakia but it just melted in the mouth and again so many fresh vegetables etc. You then receive a Cypriot sweet, coffee, liquer which are all compliments of the house. All this for under CYP13 for two - can't be bad. Looking forward to taking friends there tomorrow and trying something different.

Have eaten here many times - especially the set menu - brilliant food at good prices. Chef always comes out to check that you are satisfied with the meal. Friendly staff with a good atmosphere. Their steaks are brilliant as well - melt in the mouth - yummy makes me feel hungry just thinking about it.

As you can see from my rating I personally thought it was rubbish. Having heard great reviews from people living here, thought we would give it a try so went for a Sunday buffet - the meat and vegetables were covered in sauce but dried up - yuk. I wouldn't even give them a second chance.

Sophies Theme Restaurant

Have been to Sophies for both their Indian night (Monday) and their Chinese & Thai nights at the weekend (Friday & Saturday) - really can't fault them as you can eat till you burst, plus I personally think their Indian night is the best value for money you can get in Paphos.

Having heard great reviews about this place, decided to give it a try and must admit was disappointed. Hubby ordered medium rare steak to find it was actually raw and cold in the middle. I had the stuffed pork chops and there was blood running from that as well near the bone. Also found it expensive to eat if you live and work here but this was a special treat - or so we thought!

Have been to the Pagoda on a number of occasions and if you are a regular they will give you a 20% discount voucher. Food has always been really good and the service has at times been too quick so have to tell them we like to have a break in between courses or it is there too quick.

Have visited this establishment many times, but the last twice sitting waiting for a table and asking why people came in after us (even though we had booked) and was informed they are Cypriot we have to look after them, even though we live here was enough for us never to visit the restaurant again. Also having to send back the rice twice because it was stodgy and overcooked. Expensive for second rate food.
