Cannot really fault it but .......

This is a difficult restaurant to review because overall there is very little to moan about but it is a little too pretentious for our liking. For instance there is no house wine (wine prices range from about Euros 25 a bottle to Euros 2,900!!) but they insist on decanting even the cheaper bottles with a flourish. Indeed the whole wine list seemed at odds with the menu - the emphasis appearing to be on extremely expensive wines.

We had spaghetti aglio ollio and prawns in garlic sauce between the four of us as starters followed by the sea bream x 2, (one being filleted at the table with great panache!), the fillet steak Pepe and the veal escalopes in a mushroom sauce. The fish and the steak were outstanding and the veal was good. The vegetables were awful - overcooked to the extent of being soggy in some cases and burnt in others.

These were followed by creme brulee, espresso freddo and a home made strawberry ice cream. The espresso freddo was excellent but the other two were nothing to write home about.

The bill of Euros 225 for four people was considerably higher than other good, local Italian restaurants and frankly, as good as this place is, not worth the price. Would we go back? Yes but only if our other Italian favourites were not available.

Best Point ? Excellent menu
Worst Point ? Wine prices

Lovely italian

We liked the look of this restaurant so my partner and I went on the first night of our holiday as we wanted something light. We were seated at a table overlooking the sea and the service was excellent. Not too obtrusive. We chose pasta and gnoochi main courses but no starter or dessert. My partner had a pint of Keo and I had a bottle of water. The food was wonderful. Very fresh sauces, lots of it and well presented.
The bill was around €30 which was very reasonable for the type of dining that it was.
This is a lovely restaurant if you want to dress up and be waited on.

Risto La Piazza

We recently dined at the Risto La Piazza as we liked the look of the menu.

From start to finish the whole experience was memorable. The service is on a par with top London restaurants. Attentive staff hovered discreetly, and approached the table without being asked to take orders etc.

The menu is typically Italian and extensive. Making a choice quite difficult.

The mushroom soup that I had was delicious; we all decided on fillet steak, which comes with a choice of mouth-watering sauces, Chateaubriand is also available.

Presentation is nouveau cuisine, but surprisingly filling.

All in all an enjoyable experience, will certainly revisit, but probably only on a special occasion as the bill came to CY£79 for three, but I don’t mind paying that amount when everything was as good as it was.

Decide against the cognac at CY£100 a glass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a shame!

First time we went, we had not booked so the table we were given was not that great. However, we had a fabulous evening, enjoyed the food and drank some excellent expensive wines - for 3 the bill was CYP175 approx.

A few months later we returned, yet again had not booked, but restaurant was not full. Once again, given an awful table (I know we should have said something!), but this time the service was not so great, the food not as good and overall was a big disappoinment.

Advice to staff... Remember your potential regular customers and reward them with more each visit, not less!!

Unfortunately, we will not be going back!

Although a bit on the expensive side, I really enjoy this restaurant. Food is very good, staff friendly & knowledgeable & happy to accomodate slight changes to menu in accordance with customers tastes. Very good wine list.

Lunch time pizza in Cafe is good value & one of the best pizzas around.
