We would always take friends visiting Paphos here as a bit of a show and large portions always served, originally the Chilli ribs either starter or main course were excellent, however they changed to BBQ sauce so less of a kick, last time one of our table had Chilli con carne, it was so bland it was sent back, nothing was done and we have not been back since.
Still seems to be Frantic whenever we pass by, may try it again, although plenty other very good places to dine out.

We go to Fat Mamas every year and I make sure it is on a day I am particularly hungry because the portions are huge.I have learned not to order a starter but to go straight to the main course of ribs with fries.I can just about eat it all with a couple of beers.
The atmosphere has always been good with the hard working staff periodically running out to sing and dance for everyone.
The only downs side is that it is always packed and the youngsters waiting on are rushing around like headless chickens bumping into tables and chairs which can get a little annoying at times.

Ate here a year ago and gave it a bad review as the pizza was aweful. However we went with another couple this time and the food was much better. I still didn't like the look of the pizzas but I had pasta this time which was plentiful, fresh and tasty. The other 3 people in the party had chicken, burger and lasagne. The only dish that was poor was the lasagne. Hardly any meat or pasta and lots of runny sauce. The protions are good but it seems a bit hit and miss with the quality of the food. Service seemed a bit all over the place with different waiters attending to our table rather than just one.

Gone Downhill

We have bben here many times over the last few years but this time we were really disappointed. The service is still great & there is always a good atmosphere but the prices have gone up & the steaks were more expensive than Sienna! It is similar to TGIs in the UK so the food is a blend of tex mex with Italian & the portions are huge but it did not seem as good value as in previous visits & the meals were not as tasty. It is a shame as it has always been a "must go" venue for us but we will probably not go again this year.

Great place for tourists and residents alike!
Fun atmosphere, compared to the TGI Fridays we love back 'home' in the UK.
Super entertainment for the kids.
Even the adults have their photos taken with Fat Mama herself!!
Massive portions of everything from the full rack of ribs for a starter, to a gut busting Sundae!
Very good value for money.
Especially good for parties and large groups of people, although you cannot book and it can get VERY busy in the height of summer!
Would definitely recommend.

Its a pity that this restaurant closes for the winter as I do enjoy visiting it.
I am happy to see at leasdt 1 restaurant in Paphos that makes an effort. OK, it just the waitresses dressing up and dancing around a bit, but at least it is not the boring old quiet, nothing ever happens place.
The ribs are decent and the food generally is good. I like visiting this place when I have visitors or with children. Ther is some entertainment. I wish more restaurants In Paphos would do something interesting. I am dying to see a really nice Russian restaurant opening in Paphos with all the Russian and Ukrainians settling in the area I am sure someone wil folow that idea one day. Posibly they are to sensible to open a restaurant here.

TGI Fridays in the sun

We got dragged along as part of a celebration group. We found it noisy, great if you don't want to talk. The food is similar to what we had in Stevenage and roughly the same price. Though our friends raved over the ribs. To me it was too contrived, but like all things it is personal preference. I think you will love or hate it. they must be doing something right as people have always queued for this place.

As a regular visitor of Fat Mama’s restaurant and being Italian, I would rate this restaurant perhaps one of the best Pizza and Pasta restaurant in Europe. The décor is fantastic, the service is excellent but most of all the food is superb. Most Italian food is rich in herbs and seasoning. Some chefs over or underdo it. Not chefs at Fat Mama’s. I can taste the mixture of interesting seasonings and yet not lose the pureness of the ingredients used. A big thumbs up!

Went on 17th August 07 for a special birthday. Had the best steak ever outside of America. Cooked beautifully. The only problem was I had a starter before and it was so huge I couldn't quite manage all of the steak. Have been to Fat Mamas lots of times and never had a bad mean yet.

Fat Mama's fantasy...

Faaantastic. The best I had. My husband tried the ribs. He was shocked by the size of the dish but believe me he managed it all.
It is nice to be served on with a smile. The waiters and waitresses made sure we were treated like royalty.
My son will never forget his 12th birthday at Fat Mama's. Everyone at the restaurant participated in this great event. The atmosphere was so warm and homely. The shows very impressive. I' ve never seen so many happy faces all under one roof.
We paid the bill with a smile. Centainly worth every penny we paid.
A very special thank you to the dancing waitresses!
When in paphos, Fat Mama's is must. Don't be put off by the long queue. It is worth waiting, believe me!

This is not going to be the best culinary experience you have ever had, as long as you accept that then go along & join in what we found to be a great, buzzy atmosphere. Bit tacky in parts but hey ho you're in Cyprus not Mustique! Kids (age 6 & 10) thought it was fab. Staff very attentive. If you go before 7pm not only can you book a table but you get 10% off too. Food certainly not created using the best ingredients but edible although as all the other reviews have said, portions are sooooo huge. They must be doing something right as on the two occasions we went it was packed out and there were queues of 20/30 people waiting to get in. I'd say just go with the flow & accept it for what it is!

Why people queue to eat at this restaurant is beyond me. There are far better places providing just as much "entertainment" and much better food. This is typical "tourist tat". We visit Paphos regularly as we have family there and, I have to say, Fats is terribly over-rated. You can get the same at any seaside resort in UK - and the total waste of food is horrendous. Frankly, the only persons seeming to use this facility are tourists - I doubt if the Cypriots would bother.

At first we were put off by the cues to this resturant however i had read reviews about the portion sizes and wanted to see them for myself although i am not a big eater (and KNEW i wouldnt be able to eat it all) i really could not resist going. My boyfriend had a fillet steak and said it was the nicest steak he had tried and was upset when it had all gone, i had a spicy chicken thing and the sauce and chicken was lovely and very very large but you dont have to eat all of it do you. I would advise going to the resturant between 6-7 because you dont have to cue then. The overall price our meal was low to middle thirties ( we got 10 percent off for visiting in the above times) in our meal we had two straters two main courses and a few drinks each. The only thing that we did not like was that in the bill they had told us to tip between 10-15 percent so because of their cheak we tiped five percent. All in all i would eat there again.

Huge portions of pretty average tasting food with,as far as we could make out mostly cheap ingredients. The atmosphere seemed forced however the entertaiment factor isn't bad. Kids and teenagers will love this place. The more grown up amonst you,I suggest you try it once then think to yourself is this the type of establishment you came to Cyprus to dine at.

You get a lot of cheap fries for your money, not the best cooked steak in Cyprus but if you want a good lively atmosphere and okay food, this is the place for you.
