the village has a wonderful laid back feel,just what you need on holiday.lots of people are eating there from pissouri,paphos,and surrounding areas.having eaten in lots of tavernas in the area i can honestly say that the quality of food,service and friendliness in this place is excellent.they will even mix and match main courses if you like more than one[and you will]the meals are tasty,but substantial and not many people have three courses,which is a shame because the deserts are good too.the meze does not come at you too fast,which is great because there are two tavernas very adjacent and you can relax and take in the atmosphere of a typical cypriot village.i have taken friends there in the past,and would do so again with pleasure.

A reminder of the good old days

Platia in the centre of Mandria is unique in the fact that it still remains a typical old fashion Cypriot tavern. The fact that it is always full with local Cypriots convinced us to try it and it was well worth the visit. The meze was great, lots of it and done slowly, so there was time between courses so as not to think you are in a race to the finish line. The service to order was a little too slow, but when on holiday my theory is what's the rush, so didn't worry us too much. Atmosphere was very hospitable. The only one downside was that there were a couple of cats passing through, always to be expected in an open aired placed, but can be slightly off putting to new people to Cyprus.
