Winter Warmer
|

Went to Faro's for lunch. On a coldish winter day in January, Faro's was warm and in viting witj log fire in main dining area and separate fire in lounge seating area. Excellent. Nothing worse than a coldn restaurant. Food was very good, fresh fish and local Cypriot dishes. Always with chips or jacket but local salads are equally good and available.

Glad i went back

Things have certainly improved since i was here 3 years ago and vowed not to return, i could resist giving it another go 'just to see'. Glad i did. pork souvlakia food was notably better - seasoned, juicy and tender - but the lack of quantity on vegetables was a bit odd considering the cost of them against the meat would expect, like most places, to pile up the boiled veg and chips to fill a plate. I have discarded the receipt but recall it being pretty good value, but not within the 'budget quick lunch' bracket. The whole place must have had a lick of paint or a refurb to brighten it up and the main waiter is still a cheery character.

Great setting and food

We always eat at Faros in Latsi harbour. The fish is good, the setting great and we like the Bulgarian waiter as he is good fun.. In fact he has been there for a few years now and always remembers us. I would thoroughly recommend it!

Well, my husband and I found the waiter and the staff extremely helpfull and friendly. so what if the waiter mimics accents at least he can converse in numerous langages, more than most! the menue caters for all taste's. and all the time that we have visited, we have never had bad food, bad service, just friendly happy faces!!

Faros
|
5 of 6 people found the following review helpful
Visited Faros last week on recommendation from several people.
The location is ideal opposite the marina in Latchi. The menu is predominately fish, and also there is a special board. The verdict from our group was on the whole positive, the portions are large, and homemade chips are very good, the swordfish takes up most of the plate and was tasty. The problem though is the waiter, who is quite irritating, he is Bulgarian, and has picked up several regional phrases which he continuously repeats. After half an hour you just want to get away from him.
The bill was reasonable for a restaurant in the centre of a tourist area, but I’m afraid the waiter has put us off revisiting.

Disappointed.

Had mixed fish/meat meze here for lunch a week or two ago. Disapointed with food. Kalimari was hardly cooked, dipped rather than fried. Souvlaki hard, dry and chewy. Chips were not fresh, more like large fast food ones. Village salad had a not even a tea spoon of feta ! However the waiter was very attentive and rather humourous with his odd English phrases. A relaxed feel to the place. Price was low but still not great value considering food. Would not go back.
