As Good As It Gets

Excellent Food and Excellent Service. I could go on and on but I would have to keep on using the same supurlaitive adjectivies!If you have the opportunity book a couple of days inadvance to get a front window seat - the light trees are so eye catching, it facinating to watach everyone tyrying to take photographs. Although they have very little control over their guests they appeared to look after a very large rugby party and still serve everyone else quickly which isn't always thge case with others.

Took my better half for an evening meal here, being an advocate myself following a number of previous visits over the course of the last 4-5 years. She was impressed from the moment we entered this establishemnt by all conceivable aspects and her favourable reaction to the environment was confirmed by a superb table by the window on the 1st floor, followed by excellent service and very good Chinese food spanning duck, noodles and chicken, I enjoyed the crispy shredded chilli beef. I recommend this restaurant highly. It does pay to book in advance (as we did).

Easy location, with OK food but Expensive

Chloe's has a beautiful appearance from both the outside and inside, however this is all let down by the food and bill. Taking my better half here to sustain her craving for Chinese food left us both disappointed. Her because the food did not live up to what friends had told us, and me because I had to pay the bill! I found the Chinese waitresses beautifully dressed and tentative, but noticed they were being treated badly by management. This upset me very much, and ruined the 'quaintness of the appearance' of the restaurant. All in all, I would go to see the interior but not to order a big meal as it will leave your wallet empty!

EXCELLENT FOOD

Had my first visit to Chloe's tonight after wanting to visit for some time. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was delicious, we shared starters of Ribs in Honey Sauce, Prawn Toast and Stuffed Mushrooms. For main course I had crispy sweet and sour pork, then mango cake for desert. The service was excellent, and the staff were extremely polite. It is quite expensive though, so not somewhere I would go regularly but for a special treat I would highly recommend it.

First visit to Chloes1 for several years as we live close to Chloes2Noticed that they were offering a special lunch menu so as it was that time of day decided to dine there. On the special menu was a choice of three 8Euro meals (the platter espec recommended) Additionaly a 20% discount was given on extras ordered off the main menu Usual standard of service, overall a nice change to the usual snacks that we enjoy at lunch time

Ate at Chloes twice in September 2008. Very smart restaurant but doesn't require formal dress. Table booking highly recommended as very popular, and if possible try and get a table overlooking sea as views great.Included some dishes not found in most chinese restaurants in UK. Quality of food very good and service excellent as they don't rush you even when busy.

Four of us dined here last week. We were going to go to Tao's off Bar street as we already knew that it was good but were pulled in by the lure of the facade at Chloe's and that's exactly what it was- just a facade. the building is lovely and is definately a tourist trap. The waitresses were just too attentive and were extrememly annoying as they kept leaning over my partner while he was eating to either fill my wine glass or take plates away. My father asked the waitress not to refill his glass but she came back 5 minute later and did it anyway! The food was very bland, the worst I have ever had in a Chinese restaurant. The beef in black bean sauce was chewy and bland and the sizzling lamb was not sizzling. The other 2 dishes of pork chop suey and beef with mushrooms tasted exactly the same. The bill for 4 of us with just main courses and a drink each was €70 which we thought was expemsive. We will never go back.

Beautiful restaurant and service

Chloe's is simply breathtaking in appearance, from the marbled floors, beautiful ornate sculptures to the immaculate traditional dress of the waitresses.We both enjoyed our starters, but my girlfriend was a bit disappointed with her chicken main course. I tried a bit myself, and the chicken seemed to have more of a boiled feel to it, making the texture 'rubbery' (insert your own Chinese joke there).. However, I had the sliced beef with Spinach, and have to say it was absolutely delicious. 9½ out of 10 for mine. The starters were nice, although not mind blowing, hence my rating of 8 for food. I wouldn't say it was value for money, as we spent 72 Euro's just for the two of us.. although that did include a 2nd bottle of wine, and we were there for over two hours!

Fab surroundings ... average food

I went to Chloes as a result of pressure from my young daughter, who was entranced by the beautifully dressed waitresses and impressive frontage. It being the height of the tourist season, we quickly learned that it was essential to book - which perhaps raises expectations a little too far. Whilst visually very pleasing, and with excellent customer service, the food is disappointing and overpriced; our local take away offers fresher, tastier fare. That said, my daughter loved the whole experience, so I was persuaded to go for a second visit. We enjoyed the chicken satay starter, and the lemon chicken was satisfactory - ample portion, good quality chicken, tangy sauce. Undoubtedly, the staff and surroundings go a long way towards the popularity of this restaurant. But if you're looking for good chinese food, look elsewhere.

Went here with hubby as he loves Chinese food and we both enjoyed it. Lovely food and really pleasant staff but found food slightly salty, thats my only complaint. Will go back again soon.

Have visited Chloe's on several occasions now and have never been disappointed. Food is fantastic, only surpassed by the service from Ohn Mar,Snow,Rose,Chaw Chaw,Ivy etc. Can't wait till we visit again in 2009.

My God the food here is terrible. The restaurant looks really nice from the outside and I had eaten in Chloes (2) in Tomb of the Kings before, which serves quite nice food.The best way to describe this place is a 'Tourist trap'. SAt best the food is average, but highly overpriced at the worst it just uneatable. I decided to order the 'Dim Sum' as a starter. However instead of steamed it had been microwaved, which created Balls of rubber. The waitress was extremely friendly and quietly admitted that the food was not very good, but there was no offer of a replacement or anything. The rest of the meal was disappointing. I am sure the duck had been death for a few years and the crispy beef consisted of wooden sticks covered in glue. Add to this the high price and we can only hope that this place goes bankrupt soon, so the actually good restaurants get a better chance of survival. Really the only reason to go to this restaurant is to admire the waitresses and the view. Just don't order any food.

Better in the UK

We sat outside on a warm evening, it was a lovely setting. The service was very good and the restaurant looks great. Spent some time playing with the automated gadgets in the toilets - which were spotless. But it comes back to the same thing of you can get more bang for your buck in the UK. I thought prices were dearer than the UK and the food was not quite as good. If you are visiting wait til you get home.

BIG disappointment

After reading lots of reviews and hearing from friends how good Chloe's was my family was very excited to visit the restaurant. The place and service was fantastic but the food was absolutely awful. It was completely tasteless. I can only put it down to perhaps the chef's not off or something but it was truly a complete waste of money. There was no offer to change the food or even an appology which left my family very disappointed with the whole experience.

Went to Chloes in the sweltering July heat, and found it was beautifully cool, the service was excellent, and we could not find fault with the food.we had 4 meals, 3 fried rice and plain noodles, and the bill was just over £44 cyp, that included 4 drinks and bottled water, everyone enjoyed their meal, and we would all go again |
